November 2024: The Global and Regional Art collection is now live! This authoritative and varied range of titles supports a more global curriculum within art history, combining encyclopaedic background with cutting-edge scholarship.

The latest annual update for Bloomsbury Design Library is now live. The 14 books added include Designing Knowledge by the collection’s new General Editor. This update also features seven new encyclopedia articles, five new Designer Biographies including W.E.B Du Bois and Bonnie MacLean, and a new Subject Guide on Glass.

Our Teaching and Learning Resources now include two videos and three study guides related to Bloomsbury Art Markets. Existing Bloomsbury Visual Arts hub bibliographic guides have also been reviewed and updated.


October 2024: Introducing the new Art, Race and Gender collection! Combining cutting-edge research alongside classic works such as Linda Nochlin’s Women, Art, And Power And Other Essays and Eddie Chamber’s World is Africa, this collection focuses on women artists, artists of colour, art and feminism, masculinity, class, race, sexuality, ethnicity and related topics.


May 2024: The latest annual update for Bloomsbury Applied Visual Arts is now live, comprising four new editions of existing titles: Illustration by Alan Male, The Principles and Processes of Interactive Design by Jamie Steane, The Publishing Business by Kelvin Smith and Melanie Ramdarshan Bold, and Zero Waste Fashion Design by Timo Rissanen and Holly McQuillan.


March 2024: New to Bloomsbury Art Markets, the latest update includes over 980 articles comprising new entries on galleries, art dealers, art fairs and auction houses.


February 2024: Introducing Packt Game Development and Animation! Explore titles from Packt Publishing in this new collection which provides vital practical knowledge for students of video game design and digital animation.


January 2024: Bloomsbury Architecture Library's annual update is now live, with 24 new titles comprised in this release, including: Queering Architecture, German Colonialism in Africa and its Legacies, and The Semiotics of Architecture in Video Games.


November 2023: We’re delighted to welcome our award-winning Bloomsbury Architecture Library core collection and Architecture Design and Practice Online to the Bloomsbury Visual Arts Hub!

Explore 5,500 years of world architecture, including the landmark digital reference work Sir Banister Fletcher’s Global History of Architecture 21st edition, exclusively, as part of Bloomsbury Architecture Library, as well as 200 key titles focusing on studio design and professional practice with Architecture Design and Practice Online.

In addition, now available to watch online: ‘Dealing with art: Bloomsbury Art Markets live webinar and expert panel’. Re-watch our inaugural live recording for the resource consisting of 10-minute talks exploring: art history (1900s to the present), women art dealers, and the art market as ecosystem.


October 2023: Now available on Bloomsbury Design Library: 16 titles that form the 2023 update, covering design theory, queer print cultures, exhibitions, basketry and more. Plus 22 new articles added to volumes 1-3 of The Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Design, and 10 Designer Biographies. New Featured Content on Design and Outdoor Wonders is also now available with free chapters, designer biographies and articles exploring designs in, and inspired by, the great outdoors.


October 2023: Introducing the new Printmaking collection which is available now! Explore 18 beautifully illustrated titles offering practical guidance and visual inspiration from A&C Black and Herbert Press.


September 2023: Take a look at the new Applied Gaming, Ceramics and Photography collections, which are all available now!

August 2023: Take a look at the new Design Studies collection, which is available now! July 2023: Now available on Bloomsbury Applied Visual Arts: 26 additional titles spanning video game design, fashion, and illustration among other practices. Plus five new editions of pre-existing titles: Textiles and Fashion by Jenny Udale, Fashion Thinking by Fiona Dieffenbacher, Visible Signs by David Crow, Visual Research by Russell Bestley and Paul McNeil, and Aaris Sherin’s Introduction to Graphic Design.


July 2023: Discover the new Animation Practice collection, which is now live! Explore 53 practice-led eBooks from CRC Press and Routledge, with high-quality coverage of both traditional and practical techniques. Includes classic texts such as Drawn to Life: 20 Golden Years of Disney Master Classes by Walt Stanchfield, and Directing the Story by Frances Glebas.

In addition the Bloomsbury International Encyclopedia of Surrealism was updated with two new Bibliographic Guides on Love and Poetry


June 2023: Watch the London launch for Bloomsbury Art Markets, with video playback of our expert-led panel discussion and subsequent audience Q&A now available online.

October 2022: The Bloomsbury Design Library autumn 2022 update went live with 7 eBooks; a Designer Biography; a Lesson Plan; 3 new chapters in the World History of Design Volume III; 18 new articles across volumes 1-3 of The Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Design.
